Colts Release Bizarre Hostage-like Video of T.Y. Hilton Claiming He “Wants to Finish Career with Colts”

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Colts released a bizarre promotional video for the upcoming season that features T.Y. Hilton emphatically claiming he wants to be “a Colt for life.” However, the affirmation of loyalty from the 4x Pro Bowler comes at a strange time. Contract negotiations between the wide receiver and Indianapolis have reportedly “stalled” due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is unclear when the talks are set to resume.

The video set the internet ablaze with speculation. Was Hilton’s statement genuine? Eagle eye observers were quick to point out a number of disturbing elements in the video that might suggest otherwise.

The video opens with Hilton sitting on a dirt floor in an otherwise empty room. Donning an orange jumpsuit, the wide receiver stares dejectedly at the floor. The Colts mascot “Blue” menacingly stands behind him in blue military fatigues. He nudges Hilton in the back with the tip of his AK-47 before whispering something to the receiver and pointing off-screen.  It is unclear what the mascot says to the receiver. His Colts themed shemagh muffles the sound of his voice. At Blue’s behest, the former Pro Bowler looks up from the ground and stares at something behind the camera. His eyes dart back and forth as he fixates on something off-screen. After a minute of silence, Hilton begins to speak.

“Hello. I am T.Y. Hilton, wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. I am unharmed and living in the Colt’s training facility under my own volition. I am being treated very well by the team’s management as we wait to continue contract negotiations. While our discussions have been temporarily sidelined by the pandemic, do not take that as a sign of hesitation on my part. I am very much looking forward to being a Colt…forever. Go Colts…”

As he concludes his speech, Hilton’s head droops down to his chest. He blankly stares at the ground as the video transitions into a shameless promo video for Colts 2020-2021 season tickets.

It is unclear whether Hilton was coerced into making these statements. All attempts to reach the wide receiver have been unsuccessful thus far. A representative from the Colts organization was quick to dismiss those concerned with the wide receiver’s wellbeing as “conspiracy theorists.”

“We are happy that Hilton has made the very wise decision to stay with the Colts long-term. Very wise indeed, considering the stakes… This decision is in his, I mean, our best interest. T.Y. will be staying here for the remainder of the pandemic, where he will be monitored closely by our staff. Can’t risk this guy getting sick or joining another team in free agency. Once the pandemic passes, we will get his deal done quickly and then he will be released, I mean freed, I mean permitted to leave…Uhh… Go Colts.”
