Magic: Pelinka Pointed Finger Guns at Me
LOS ANGELES, CA — Magic Johnson made another shocking claim about Lakers GM Rob Pelinka in what is sure to be the next chapter in the franchise’s dysfunction. Johnson claimed on ESPN’s First Take that Rob Pelinka would make finger guns at him when no else was looking. Here is an excerpt of Magic describing the disturbing circumstances:
“There were times when I be on my way to a meeting. I would see Rob way down the hallway and I would give him a friendly wave. Most of the time there were tons of other people in the hallway and he would give me a courteous wave back. But, on a couple of occasions, it was just us in this 25-foot hallway. And when I would wave at him, he would just stop, look me in the eyes, and give me a slow, drawn out finger gun. This wasn’t like a finger gun from the Fonz. This was like Gran Torino. I truly believe he had malicious intent behind his finger guns. Then when we would meet up later for business, Pelinka would act like nothing happened. He’s a psychopath. I needed every vacation I took while I was working for the Lakers.”
Pelinka has not responded to these new accusations. No one within the Lakers organization has been able to confirm the validity of Magic’s claims.
Johnson also made other claims one of which suggested Pelinka wanted to bond with him on a camping trip, deep in Canadian wilderness. Pelinka allegedly told Magic he wanted to “bury the hatchet, once and for all” and then “laughed maniacally.” The Lakers legend initially agreed, until Pelinka urged him to leave behind all GPS enabled devices and wear a blindfold so that two could “lose themselves in nature.”
